CHIEF OLUFEMI MAJEKODUNMI

Chairman

Chief Olufemi Majekodunmi is an architect with many years of professional experiences. He founded the FMA Architect Ltd (Formerly Known as Femi Majekodunmi Associates) in Nigeria in 1973, and since then has grown it, into an interdisciplinary practice, with offices in three African nations; Nigeria, Botswana and South Africa. Through his career, Chief Olufemi Majekodunmi has demonstrated an on-going commitment to working with various architectural organizations to advance the practice of architecture in countries across Africa. He was the first secretary of the African Union of Architects and a past secretary and president of Nigerian Institute of Architects as well past president of the International Union of Architects. He sits on the board of several organizations, and brings his wealth of experience, as well as first-hand knowledge of the aspiration of the founder, to the Board of Chief (Dr.) Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi Foundation.

PROF. JOHN GODWIN

Prof. John Godwin, OBE, OFR was born in the United Kingdom in 1928, studied architecture at the Architectural Association School in London. He came to Nigeria in 1954, first working for a London practice and started practice in Lagos 18 months later because he felt strongly that any development of architecture should be domiciled in the country of its origin. He has remained in his adopted country, Nigeria, for almost 60 years and granted Nigerian Citizenship in 2011. He has written and lectured in Nigeria and abroad and privileged to be able to play his own part in Nigeria. Prof. John Godwin was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1975 and Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 2002, he’s a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects. Prof. John Godwin was made a professor in the Architecture Department of the University of Lagos in 1999, retiring from full time teaching in 2010.

VEN. REV. (DR.) YINKA OMOLOLU

Director

Ven. Revd Dr. Oluyinka Omololu was born on the 30th of November 1939. Attended Egbado College Ilaro and CMS Grammar School, Lagos, before proceeding to Germany to study medicine at the University of Hamburg from 1961 to 1968. On his return to Nigeria in 1970 he joined the Nigerian Armed Forces Medical Services and was deployed to the Nigerian Navy. He attended many courses in Naval Medicine in India and the United Kingdom. He also attended the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, University of London 1976/77. He retired from the Nigerian Navy in the rank of a Surgeon Commodore. He was the Director of Medical Services at his retirement. He was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital from 1984 to 1985. He later was ordained into the Holy Orders as priest in the Anglican Communion (Church of Nigeria) in1985. He served in many churches in Lagos Diocese before becoming the Provost of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos. He retired from active ministry work in 2009. He serves on the Boards of several not for profit organizations. He is married with children and grandchildren.

MR. DESMOND MAJEKODUNMI

Director

Desmond Olumuyiwa Majekodunmi is an electro acoustic engineer, who for 12 years worked with De Lane Lea / CTS UK, Phillips Nig & CBS Kenya. He lived in Kenya for 3 years and was strongly motivated by their sustainable use and commercialization of their eco systems for agriculture & tourism. On returning to Nigeria he undertook courses on minimum tillage agriculture at the IITA, citrus cropping at NIHORT in Ibadan and oil palm plantation management at NIFOR Benin, whilst establishing a conservation agroforestry farm in Lekki, Lagos. A portion of which is now operating as an Urban Forest Park and animal rescue center. This project when completed will employ at least one hundred people in green jobs. He is a tourism development consultant through his company DTD, to several state governments for whom he has drawn up tourism development master plans and assisted to execute eco tourism projects and large scale entertainment events. He is also a documentary film maker. One of his award winning documentaries that was sponsored by the German Green party, was instrumental in inspiring the Lagos State Govt to establish a climate change department in the ministry of environment.

DR. OLADAPO MAJEKODUNMI M.B., B.S., M.R.C.O.G.

Current Medical Director Dr Dapo Majekodunmi was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1964. He completed his medical training in 1989 from the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. Following this, he went to the UK to do his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1997. In 1998 he returned to Nigeria and began working at St Nicholas Hospital as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. In 2000 he was appointed Medical Director of St Nicholas Hospital. Dapo has attended various management development programmes at the renowned Lagos Business School (in association with the University of Navarra, IESE Spain) and various local and international medical and business conferences. He has over 15 years of international and domestic experience in the health care sector.

MR. KOFO MAJEKODUNMI

Director

Kofowora Majekodunmi is a graduate of Law, (London School of Economics & Political Science), and Barrister at Law of the Nigerian Law School. He has MBA from the Lagos Business School (in association with the University of Navarra IESE, Spain). He has over 24 years’ experience in banking/financial services. At various times, he was the Deputy Managing Director of MBC International bank PLC (where he successfully oversaw the bank's merger with FBN PLC). Thereafter he was pioneer Executive director in Asset Management at FBN Capital for two years. At MBC, he oversaw the firm’s diversification into a suite of non-bank financial services (Advisory/issuing house services, bureau de change, insurance brokerage) which compliment the broker dealer business of MBC Securities. He is on the board of Leadway Pensure PFA, a leading pension fund administrator in Nigeria.

MRS. FOLAKE AKINKUGBE

Director

Mrs Folake Akinkugbe (nee Majekodunmi), a lawyer, is the Executive Director of Oleander Hospitality and Catering, a post that she has held for the past 13 years. She also sits on the board of the Children’s Developmental Centre, a centre for children with learning disabilities. She is married with three children.

Film Producer/ Communications Consultant Development Communications Specialist. Bolaji is a dedicated, highly motivated, talented professional and developmental resource person with over 20 years of experience in video and film production and is the producer, writer, and director of numerous award-winning documentary films on development issues through value-oriented initiatives. Over the years, she had acquired several high skills and competencies both in the profit and non-profit sector. She has more than a decade of Marketing and Communication experience from a leading advertising agency as well as over eight years in non-for-profit as an administrator focusing on institutional development, women, and corporate governance, children & youth mentoring and development. She is an international trainer on social development content, a communication consultant for numerous organizations as well as an excellent not-for-profit administrator. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Chief (Dr.) Moses Adekoyejo Majekodun Foundation (MAMF). Bolaji has her first class degree in Mass Communication from an international university as well a Masters in Marketing and Communication from a prestigious university in Nigeria. She loves to travel, read, swim, mentor, manage projects, teach, write and cook.

He has been in the development world for over 10 years, held several top positions. Obtained B.Sc Honours Mathematics/Statistics, certificate in Grief/Trauma Counselling and Support by Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), proficiency certificate in Management by Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and attended several capacity building trainings. A social entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
